Anawin Pikulthong of Gilbert took top honors in the Boys Championship division at the Tucson Conquistadores Spring Classic, held April 27-28 at Silverbell and El Rio Golf Courses. Coincidentally, Pikulthong, 14, won last year in the 13-14 division.
The first local qualifier to enter the coveted IMG Academy Junior World Championship was recently contested at Whirlwind Golf Club’s Cattail Course April 13-14 with 19 Arizona junior golfers earning a spot into the championship to be held July 8-12 in San Diego.
For the second time this season, Scottsdale’s Preston and Grace Summerhays both took first place in their respective divisions at the same tournament.
