Cade Anderson and Alyzzah Vakasiuola Post Wins at the Phoenix City Junior Championship

Vakasiuola wins in playoff; Anderson makes two eagles in final round.

The Phoenix City Junior Championship teed off July 2-3 at Aguila Golf Course with Cade Anderson of Scottsdale carding two eagles in the final round for a tournament-low 66 to finish at 7-under-par 137 in the Boys Championship division. Ethan Klose of Phoenix finished in second place, three strokes off the pace, at 4-under-par 140 (68-72). Noah Nuez of Laveen and Alan Quezada of Phoenix finished tied for third place at 3-under-par 141 with matching scores of 72-69.

In the Girls Championship division, Alyzzah Vakasiuola (72-71) of San Tan Valley and Ivy Song (71-72) of Surprise finished regulation play tied at 1-under-par 143 before Vakasiuola prevailed on the first playoff hole with a par. Malia Uyeshiro of Queen Creek shot rounds of 71-75 to take third place with a 2-over-par 146.

J. Zachary Robinson of Goodyear won the Boys 15-18 division at 2-over par (75-71—146). Camden Braidech of Scottsdale fired a sizzling 6-under-par 136 (69-67) to win in the Boys 13-14 division. Brennan Korn of Phoenix took top honors in the Boys 11-12 division at 1-over par (54-55—109), and John Meza from Phoenix won the Boys 10 and Under division at 14-over par (33-35—68).

Julie Huggins of Anthem won in the Girls 15-18 division at 15-over par (78-81—159). Annie Dawson of Phoenix won the Girls 13-14 Division at 6-over par (75-73—148). Natalia Lamadrid of Phoenix prevailed in the Girls 11-12 division with a 7-over-par 115 (60-55), while her sister Alexis Lamadrid of won the Girls 10 and Under division at 1-under-par 53 (28-25).
