The 27th Tucson Conquistadores Spring Classic teed off April 24-25, and local resident Carlos Astiazaran made the best of home-field advantage at Silverbell Golf Course, shooting 1-over 71 in the first round followed by 5-under 65, matching his personal low score in JGAA Boys Championship competition.
A freshman at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, Emily Shimkus topped off her win at the 2021 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championship with a 4-under-par 67, tying the school record.
