McDowell Mountain Golf Club hosted Arizona’s top 49 boys and 31 girls April 2-3 at the fourth PING Junior Masters Series tournament of the 2022 JGAA season – Bryce Molder Invitational – sponsored by No Mow Grass and Greens.  

The Desert Mashie Spring Championship teed off March 26-27, with a field of 327 players, two of which made holes in one. Everett Corwon, 13, of Tucson aced the 7th hole on Palm Valley (South 9) with a 6 iron from 135 yards while Sam Basta, 12, of Phoenix aced the 2nd hole on Encanto 9 from 95 yards.

Congratulations to longtime JGAA member Gracie McGovern, 16, who won her first AJGA tournament on March 20 at the AJGA Preview at Windsor held at Windsor Golf Club.

The first round of the Thunderbird Invitational teed off March 12 with Philip Kench of Del Mar, California putting up an incredible 5-under 67 to lead the pack. In the second round it was Chandler’s Vincent Cervantes who shot 67.

Longtime JGAA member Mahanth Chirravuri won the 2022 AJGA Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods, with a final score of 12-under-par 204. This marked the first AJGA victory for the USC signee.
