The game of golf brings us together in many ways and it is always special to feature sibling duos within our organization. In honor of Golfers Day and Siblings Day falling on the same day, April. 10 we would like to showcase Natalia and Alexis Lamadrid. Both Natalia and Alexis are competitors in the Girls Championship Division and attend Xavier Preparatory. With being only one year apart, this sibling duo is sure fire a good one to watch.
Natalia, age 16, Grad year, 2026
Natalia began playing golf at four years old. She gives a tremendous thanks to her dad, Eduardo for introducing her to the game. Natalia’s love for the game began with driving the golf cart and hitting a few shots here and there with her father.
When asked about her favorite memory playing with her sister, Alexis was at the 2022 Holiday Classic where her and Alexis shot a combined 5 under as a team. She expressed that they had so much fun, and both were playing some amazing golf. Natalia also mentioned that is a day that she will never forget.
Although both Natalia and Alexis use very similar equipment and visit the same swing instructor, their games could not be any more different from each other. “We are very different people on and off the course, but she is my best friend.”
Sibling duos can be very competitive with each other, when asked how their sibling rivalry effects their practice regimes, Natalia replied “Alexis and I are very competitive when it comes to our mini-matches or games we like to play during practice to help us simulate a tournament mindset. Although we compete against each other in tournaments we always make sure to be there for one another and support each other no matter what.”
Natalia looks forward to continually improve her golf game and playing in more tournaments alongside her sister, Alexis. Natalia’s favorite on-course snack is dried mangos.
Alexis, age 15, Grad year, 2027
Similar to her sister, Alexis began playing the game at just four years old! And kudos to her father, Eduardo for introducing both girls to the sport. When asked about her favorite memory playing golf, Alexis replied, “My favorite memory with my sister is when she caddied for me in the Teen Van Horn Cup at Pinehurst No. 2, my partner and I won the lowest round and we had so much fun!”
However, at the end of the day Alexis and Natalia are still competing against each other in the Girls Championship division. Alexis mentioned that they are very competitive with each other, and it can get very tense while practicing together, but they know that it is only making them better golfers at the end of the day.
Alexis is off to a great start in the 2024 season, recently winning by eight shots at the Fisher-Bryan Invitational. Her favorite on-course snack is a Nutella sandwich.
We are excited to continue following along to see Natalia and Alexis’s success on and off the course. Both sisters also mentioned that their favorite PGA TOUR player was Collin Morikawa because of the way he handles himself on the golf course and his putting.
