JGAA Alumnus and Chattanooga Mocs golfer Camden Braidech joins the winner’s circle after his outstanding performance at the 2024 Qubein Cup in Greensboro, North Carolina. Contested at Sedgefield Country Club, Braidech took no time to jump into an early lead in the opening round. Rolling in four birdies and a bogey-free front nine, he made a statement from the get-go. The hot start led to recording the lowest round in the entire field with a 4-under 66 in round one. From there he managed to hang on to the top spot throughout the tournament. Braidech finished round two with another birdie to take a 1-shot lead heading into the final round before settling for the 3-stroke victory.
The win marks the first of his collegiate golf career and first medalist for the Chattanooga Mocs this season. His 3-under 207 was the only under-par score of the event. The former Scottsdale junior golfer joined the Mocs over the summer as a transfer from Liberty where he spent one season.
Getting his start in competitive golf through the JGAA, Braidech was a very talented and decorated junior golfer. A JGAA member from 2017-2023, he recorded six JGAA wins and multiple AJGA victories such as the 2020 AJGA Colorado Springs Junior and 2021 AJGA Mizuno Junior at Big Sky.
“Shoutout to Camden on an incredible accomplishment getting your first collegiate win under your belt,” said JGAA Executive Director Scott McNevin. “We are thrilled to see him thrive at his new home in Chattanooga. Best of luck the rest of this season!”
