For the third straight year, Team Mexico came out on top at the Girls’ Junior America’s Cup team matches. The Arizona Team finished strong with the guidance of Captain Peggy Briggs, bettering 12 other teams in the field and placing 6th. Held July 26-30 at Cheyenne Country Club, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the JGAA was represented by Kelly Su, Mikayla Fitzpatrick, Alisa Snyder and Megan Ohland. Kelly Su lead the way, finishing 6th individually, with rounds of 79-71-73=223.
It was a fun-filled week for all girls who participated. The opening ceremonies included Wyoming Governor Matt Mead welcoming the players to Wyoming. The guest speaker at the dinner banquet was PGA of America Secretary Suzy Whaley, who encouraged the young girls to give the best effort and make lasting friendships. Over 50 college coaches were in attendance to watch the outstanding play. Congratulations to Team Mexico on their victory.
