Alexis Lamadrid of Phoenix rattled off five-straight birdies in the last five holes to polish off a 5-under-par 68. The red-hot back nine propelled her past one of the top junior female golfers in Arizona, Ashley Shaw, by one stroke for the victory.
Topping the leaderboard at 2-under par, she now joins an elite group by winning at Old Barnwell. The first stop of 2024’s US Tour, Alexis LaMadrid joined the short list of UGT event winners. This is her first win on Tour, and the first overall victory in Season 3.
“Congrats Alexis on a strong showing in South Carolina,” said JGAA Executive Director Scott McNevin. “What an exciting comeback and finish for the Phoenix native as she made her presence felt coming down the final stretch.”
