Alexis Lamadrid of Phoenix earns her first career AJGA win after carding 12 total birdies and published a 10-under par 206 at the Ben An Junior All-Star. Alexis took advantage of a second-round lead and hit the ground running to secure top honors by a resounding eight strokes. She posted two rounds in the 60s and is off to a fast start in her first AJGA season, winning in just her third appearance. Her best showing, other than this tournament, was a fourth-place finish at the AJGA Phoenix Junior earlier this month. Lamadrid’s current rank in the Rolex AJGA rankings is 353, but likely to move up dramatically after this medalist performance.
“It is an unbelievable feeling, after the first round I had to grind and take it one hole at a time,” said Alexis Lamadrid.
