JGAA alum Johnnie Clark closed out the season-opening event for New Mexico’s men’s golf team in style, winning the individual title at the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League in Shizuoka, Japan. Clark posted a 54-hole total of 11-under to edge a pair of Japanese collegiate players by a single shot.
Clark shot rounds of 69-67-66 across the three-day event, never posting worse than a 69. It marked his second career collegiate title, adding to a win from last season.
The Lobos finished second as a team at 28-under, eight shots back of champion Nihon University, capping the week with a 6-under final round at Grand Fields Country Club. TCU finished third, with Tohoku Fukushi and Seattle University rounding out the top five in a field that featured collegiate teams from Japan, Scotland, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States.
The win adds to a strong run of success for JGAA alumni at the collegiate level. The JGAA congratulates Johnnie on the individual title and looks forward to following his continued success this season at New Mexico.
