JGAA alum Brody Leid picked up his first career collegiate victory Monday, winning the individual title at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Leid, a junior at the University of Wyoming, closed with a 3-under 69 to finish at 72-70-69—207 (-9), edging Denver’s Arthur Akpinar by one shot. He birdied the 18th hole to seal the win.
It’s the first individual title for a Wyoming men’s golfer since Tyler Severin in 2020, and it capped a steady climb through the field. Leid improved his score in each of the tournament’s three rounds.
Wyoming finished fifth as a team at 859 (-5) in the 18-team field at Eisenhower Golf Club’s Blue Course; Colorado won the team title at 834 (-30).
Leid and the Cowboys wrap up their fall slate at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invite, Sept. 29-30. JGAA congratulates Brody on his breakthrough win and continued success at the collegiate level.
