JGAA product Alexis Lamadrid of Phoenix captured the Girls Division title at the 28th AJGA Thunderbird Heather Farr Classic in her hometown, finishing at 5-under-par 211 at Papago Golf Club.
Lamadrid earned her third career AJGA victory in dramatic fashion, sealing the win with a clutch chip-in birdie on the 18th hole. She recorded nine birdies over the course of the tournament, navigating a deep national field with consistent scoring and timely execution down the stretch.
The victory adds another milestone to Lamadrid’s decorated junior career as she prepares to continue her path at the University of Texas at Austin. Known for her steady presence under pressure, Lamadrid emphasized patience as a defining part of her development.
“A piece of advice I would give is to stay patient,” Lamadrid said. “I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s important to treat every tournament as an opportunity for growth, both personally and in the game of golf.”
The Heather Farr Classic, hosted annually by the AJGA at Papago Golf Club, honors Arizona golf legend Heather Farr. The event attracts top junior talent from across the country and remains one of the premier stops on the AJGA schedule, built on Farr’s legacy of perseverance, resilience and excellence.
Lamadrid’s win further solidifies her status among Arizona’s top junior golfers and marks another strong step in her transition toward collegiate competition at Texas.
