First Junior Masters Series Tournament of 2023 JGAA Season
The Warren Schutte Invitational presented by Hilgers Orthodontics tees off January 21-22 at Wigwam Golf Resort on the Red and Gold Courses. The first PING Junior Masters Series tournament of the 2023 season, the 36-hole, invitation-only tournament is tailored to Arizona junior golfers with the desire and ability to compete locally against top-ranked peers.
“The Warren Schutte Invitational is a great opportunity for junior athletes to test their skills against fellow competitors without traveling far from home.” said Scott McNevin, Executive Director of the JGAA. “The PING Junior Masters Series is designed to give our junior golfers the feel of playing more competitive tournaments at the best golf courses in the Valley.”
The field for the event is limited to 84 players (51 boys and 33 girls) in the JGAA Boys and Girls Championship Divisions (view full field) who were invited to compete by virtue of their national ranking by Junior Golf Scoreboard – boys must be in the top 3,500 and girls in the top 1,500. Tee times for both rounds are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. with round one on the Red Course and round two on the Gold Course. An awards ceremony will be held following play on Sunday.
