Lewis posts wire-to-wire win; Yadav prevails in a playoff.
Prescott’s Riley Lewis started out hot at ASU Karsten Golf Course with four birdies on the first six holes of the tournament to open up a four-stroke lead after the first round with a 7-under-par 64, the low round of the tournament. He finished-up with an even-par 71 to edge out Nick Hedman (68-68—136, -6) of Chandler by one stroke to earn the win at 7-under-par 135. Caden Christopherson of Chandler, who was the runner-up last year, came in third place this year at 3-under par (72-67—139).
Sneha Yadav (74-76) of Scottsdale and Carly Strole (76-74) of Avondale finished regulation play tied for first place at 8-over-par 150 before Yadav clinched the win in a playoff. Alyza Flores of Vail came in third place at 9-over par (71-80—151).
Alan Quezada of Phoenix won in the Boys 15-18 Division at 12-over-par 154 (79-75). Bryan Beyer of Mesa won the Boys 13-14 Division at 6-over par (73-75—148). Ryan Hanawalt of Laveen won the Boys 11-12 Division at 1-over par (34-35—69). And Gavin Ly of Goodyear took the Boys 10 and Under Division with a score of 5-over par (36-37—73).
Meghan Singh of Mesa won in the Girls 15-18 Division at 17-over par (80-79—159). Raina Ports of Oro Valley won the Girls 13-14 Division at 7-over par (74-75—149). Katherine Hauptman of Scottsdale won the Girls 11-12 Division at 8-over par (33-43—76), and Ashley Shaw of Litchfield Park won in the Girls 10 and Under Division at 33-over par (51-50—101).
