By February 14, 2019No Comments
Second Junior Masters Series tournament brings together a field of Arizona’s best junior golfers.

The Raven Invitational – Fisher Bryan Golf Academy (FBGA) – PING Junior Masters Series is set for play this weekend, February 16-17, at Raven Golf Club Phoenix. The 36-hole, invitation only junior golf tournament marks the JGAA’s second PING Junior Masters Series event of 2019 attracting Arizona’s top junior golfers. The elevated strength of field allows players to earn the national-level points requited to enter national junior golf tournaments as well as better prepares them for college golf and securing college golf scholarships.

“Thank you everyone involved – Raven, Jeff Fisher and Stacie Bryan and of course PING.” said Scott McNevin, Executive Director of the JGAA. “Their support allows us to raise the bar in terms of competition and overall experience to give players a taste of the excitement and pressure of an elite tournament without traveling far from home.”

The field for the event is limited to 72 players (48 boys and 24 girls) in the JGAA’s Boys and Girls Championship divisions (full field) who were invited to compete by virtue of their national ranking on Junior Golf Scoreboard – boys must be in the top 3,500 and girls in the top 1,500. Tee times for both rounds are scheduled begin at 11:50 a.m., and an awards ceremony will follow play on Sunday.

“Our goal is to provide a competitive place for aspiring players to play,” said George Getz, Chairman of the Board of the JGAA. “This tournament series is designed to serve as a launching pad into nationally chartered events.”

Openings for junior players from neighboring states will be dependent on availability at each event. To learn more about the JGAA and the Ping Junior Masters Series, contact Scott McNevin, JGAA Executive Director, smcnevin@jgaa.org, 602-944-6168.
