After bouncing back from bogey on first hole with birdies at 2, 4 and 9, Parker Bond of Phoenix won the U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier, held June 13 at The Meadows Golf Club at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. Finishing at +1, 72, he held on by a stroke to advance to the national championship, set for Oregon’s Bandon Dunes Golf Resort July 25-30.
In JGAA competition, Bond’s best finish came at the 2020 PING Invitational, where he prevailed in the Boys 15-18 division. Overall he’s entered 26 JGAA tournament with two wins along the way.
Back in March, he also finished solo-second at the 2022 AJGA Preview at Winsor, held at Canada’s Winsor Golf Club, shooting 71-72 en route to his best AJGA finish to date.
Bond also won the 2021 Southwest PGA Junior Championship held locally at Camelback Golf Club.
