Antelope Hills Golf Course once again played host to the annual Prescott City Junior Championship, held July 8–9. Despite breezy conditions, the competition brought out plenty of strong performances across the board.

In the Boys Championship division, Jonathan Tso of Humboldt played lights-out from start to finish, making the most of his home-course advantage. Tso was the only player in the field to post two rounds in the 60s (66-66), finishing at 11-under par—his lowest 36-hole score ever in JGAA competition. With eight birdies and just two bogeys over the final round, Tso pulled away from the field in dominant fashion, winning by seven strokes for his first victory since 2017. Quinton Breuer of Peoria took solo second at 4-under, while Catcher Dahm of Scottsdale and Jackson Carr of Prescott tied for third at 3-under par.

The Girls Championship division turned into a three-player thriller. Victoria Cosenza of Phoenix and Zufan Girard of Oro Valley matched 4-over-par 76s in the opening round to share the lead heading into day two. But it was Hayden Nguyen of Peoria who charged back into contention, firing an even-par 72 in extremely windy conditions. Nguyen’s final-round push earned her a share of the lead with Cosenza, forcing a playoff—where Nguyen completed the ultimate comeback to come out on top.

For the Boys 15-18 division, Carter Wilcoxson of Phoenix won after a 2-over-par 145 (73-72). Colton Morris of Phoenix claimed the Boys 13-14 division at 2-over par (71-74). The rest of the boy divisions only had one player in the field (Kyle Wojtcuk and Wolfgang Thomas).

Switching over to the girls’ divisions, Samantha Evangelista of Queen Creek goes back-to-back after posting a 6-over-par total score to clinch the Girls 15-18 division by seven strokes. Abby Kelly of Mesa also takes home a title for the second-straight week after winning the Girls 13-14 division at 13-over par. Chun-Cing Shih of Peoria wins the Girls 11-12 division at 4-over par (76, nine holes both days). Ava Beyer of Peoria outlasts Chun-Yu Shih of Peoria to secure the Girls 10 & Under division.
