JGAA Alum Manhanth Chirravuri Wins 2025 WCC Individual Title In A Playoff For First Collegiate Win

By April 29, 2025No Comments

Congratulations to JGAA alumnus and Pepperdine University junior Mahanth Chirravuri on capturing his first collegiate tournament victory at the 2025 West Coast Conference Men’s Golf Championship. The JGAA was well represented throughout the leaderboard at the WCC Championship. Alumni Cade Anderson (Loyola Marymount University), Carlos Astiazaran (University of the Pacific), and Rylan Johnson (Oregon State University) each posted strong performances, finishing tied for 3rd at 12-under par.

Chirravuri, a Chandler native, became the 15th player in Pepperdine history — and the fifth in the last seven seasons — to win the WCC Individual Title. After firing rounds of 67-66-68 to finish at 15-under par (201), he entered a playoff against teammate Kristoffer Kuvaas. On the first playoff hole, Chirravuri sealed the win in dramatic fashion, carding an eagle on the 451-yard par-5 to claim the championship.

This marks Chirravuri’s first individual title with the Waves and his fifth top 10 finish of the season. His victory also delivered Pepperdine its second consecutive WCC individual champion, following Brady Siravo’s win last year.As a team, Pepperdine dominated the field at Green Valley Country Club, posting a three-round total of 49-under (818) to secure the top seed heading into match play.

The JGAA congratulates Mahanth on this incredible achievement and looks forward to seeing all that’s ahead for him!

“We’re incredibly proud to see so many familiar faces at the top of the leaderboard at this year’s WCC Championship,” said JGAA Executive Director Scott McNevin. “Mahanth has been building an outstanding resume at Pepperdine, and it’s exciting to see him capture his first collegiate win in such dramatic fashion. We’re wishing all of our alumni the best of luck as they head into match play!”
