By October 31, 2023No Comments

Former JGAA golfer and current Virginia Tech Hokie Kobe Valociek made it to the winner’s circle for the first time in his collegiate career. The Virginia Tech senior carded an 11-under 205 (70-69-66) to become the first Hokie golfer to win an individual title since 2021. Valociek’s exceptional performance in the final round featured a remarkable hole-out eagle on the fifth hole, a par-4. Hailing from Peoria, Arizona, he concluded the weekend with a score of 7-under on par-4s and an impressive 6-under on par-5s.

As a junior player, Kobe was the winner of the 2019 Junior Golf Association of Arizona’s PING Invitational with rounds of 65-63. The Peoria standout looks to build off his first individual title for the rest of his final year at Virginia Tech.

“We are ecstatic to see Kobe hoist up the trophy for a well-deserved victory,” said JGAA Executive Director Scott McNevin. “Nothing beats seeing our alumni making an impact and performing exceptional at the next level.”
