Former JGAA standout Abbey Schutte put together a breakthrough performance this week, winning the individual title at The Ally at Old Waverly and fired on all cylinders when it mattered most.
Schutte, a junior at Arkansas Razorbacks, fired a 9-under-par 207 over the 54-hole event to claim top honors; marking the first career tournament victory of her collegiate tenure.
Her win came amidst stiff competition. Arkansas finished as runner-up in the team competition at 21-under, while Florida took the team title at 26-under.
Individually, Schutte kept the pressure on from the start, posting under-par rounds in each session. She saved her best for last, closing with a 4-under 68 to seal the victory in dramatic fashion.
This milestone achievement underscores Abbey’s trajectory and the vision of the JGAA program – to develop young golfers from Arizona who compete, win, and succeed at the highest levels of the game. We couldn’t be prouder. Here’s to many more dubs!
