The 25th edition of the Quintero Cactus Cup kicked off May 2-3 at the stunning Quintero Golf Club, one of Arizona’s top-ranked public courses. This Ryder Cup-style showdown featured the top 20 boys and girls from the 2025 JGAA season, split into two teams—Founders and Charter—with five boys and five girls on each side, paired strategically by their respective team captains.
The format included 36 holes on Saturday with Foursomes in the morning and Four-Ball matches in the afternoon, followed by 18-hole Singles matches on Sunday. After a competitive opening day, the teams were tied heading into Sunday’s final round.
That’s when the Founders team stepped up, dominating the Singles matches 7 to 3 to pull away with the win. The final tally: Founders 12, Charter 8—securing the Founders team their sixth consecutive Quintero Cup title.
A big shoutout to Captains Scott McNevin, Jason Jones and Campbell Leid, who led the Founders squad to victory. Congratulations to all players who earned their spot in this elite event and showcased the spirit of team competition at its best!
