The 2022 JGAA Fall Classic teed off at Lone Tree, Las Colinas and Augusta Ranch Golf Clubs November 5-6, with two players in the Boys Championship division shooting first-round, 8-under 63s at Lone Tree – Dallin Delgado of Mesa and Thomas Caffarelli of Scottsdale. Delgado followed with a 5-under 66 for win at -13, one stroke clear of Carlos Astiazaran (64-66) of Tucson in second place at -12. Astiazaran posted two bogeyless rounds, highlighted by an eagle-birdie, one-two punch on holes 5 and 6 both days. Delgado, likewise, reeled off two bogey-free rounds, putting up 13 birdies along the way to his first win in 2022. Vincent Cervantes of Chandler slid into third place after finishing at -8, with rounds of 66 and 68.
In the Girls Championship division, contested at Las Colinas, Alexis Vakasiuola caught fire in the first round with an eagle-birdie run on holes 1 and 2 (started on No. 10), to sit tied for the lead at 2-under 69 with Ailis Tribolet, who shot -5, 31 on her back nine for a share of the lead. Vakasiuola closed out the championship – her fourth win in 2022 – with another 69 to finish at -4, three strokes ahead of Madalyn Gubernick of Cave Creek, who carded rounds of 72-69 to finish at -1. Taylor Wilczek of Anthem came in third place at even par with rounds of 73-69.
Dylan Boenning of Phoenix earned first place in the Boys 15-18 division, shooting 4-under par, 69-69 at Lone Tree for the win. In the Girls 15-18 division competition, held at Las Colinas, Nicole Feistl-Isaza Feistl of Cave Creek fired 76-71, +5, en route to the win.
Cooper Ingram of Scottsdale won in the Boys 13-14 division, held at Las Colinas Golf Club, shooting 1-under par 71-70. Natalia Fox of Peoria fired 74-69 to win the Girls 13-14 division at 1-over par.
Contested at Augusta Ranch Golf Club, Cason Dezzani (63-67) of Scottsdale won the Boys 11-12 division in a playoff over Lincoln Williamson (66-64) of Mesa after they finished tied for first place at +8. In the Girls 11-12 division, Addison Taylor of Scottsdale shot 69-63 for the win at +10.
Kellen Amis of Scottsdale took the Boys 10 and Under division at Augusta Ranch with scores of 28-32, even par. And Priya Natarajan of Phoenix won the Girls 10 and Under division at 14-over par (36-38).
