The annual Thunderbird High School Senior Classic, sponsored by The Thunderbirds-hosts of the WM Phoenix Open and NCAA Division I Golf Championships, was held at Gainey Ranch Golf Club on May 21, 2023. Known as a traditional golf tournament, it pays tribute and spotlights the graduating seniors that are on high school golf teams throughout the state of Arizona in 2023. 78 seniors participated, 52 boys and 26 girls.
“The Thunderbirds host the High School Senior Classic to thank all the departing seniors, many of whom have played in tons of JGAA events over the years. Many of these golfers have competed in numerous JGAA events over the years and watching them develop and carry the core values taught through our program on and off the golf course is one of the most satisfying parts of working for the JGAA,” said Scott McNevin, Executive Director of the Junior Golf Association of Arizona. Thank you once again to The Thunderbirds for sponsoring this wonderful tournament. It was a great day that all the seniors will remember fondly.”
