2022 Quintero Cactus Cup

On April 30 & May 1st, the 21st Annual Quintero Cactus Cup was held at Quintero Golf Club. The Founder’s team defended their title from last year, beating the Charter Team in a two-hole playoff.

The team match play event consisted of 36 holes on Saturday and 18 Holes on Sunday. The two teams, Founders and Charter were comprised of five boys and five girls who were paired by their respective captains.

After the Saturday morning Foursome Matches and afternoon Four-Ball Matches, the Charter team had a lead of 6 — 4 lead going into the Sunday Singles Matches. Overall, the Founders team won the Sunday Singles matches 6 to 4. After three rounds of matches, the competition was tied 10-10. In the tie-breaking playoff, Gracie McGovern, representing the Founders team, and Jennifer Seo, representing the Charter team, made a par on the 1st playoff hole to extend the playoff to a second hole. Anawin Pikulthong, representing the Founders team, made par to secure the win for the Founders team for the second year in a row. The Founders team was led by captains Lexi Sobieski and Frank Krivas.
