2008 JGAA alum and eight-time winner on the Japan Tour Chan Kim claims his second Korn Ferry Tour victory on Sunday, August 27th at Hillcrest Country Club for the 2023 Albertsons Boise Open. With Kim’s second-straight win, he officially becomes PGA TOUR bound and climbs up to number two in the Korn Ferry Tour Top 30.

Chan Kim went bogey-free for 72 holes at the 2023 Albertsons Boise Open and won on the Korn Ferry Tour for the second week in a row. Kim went 66-62-64-64 to get to 28 under after four days at Hillcrest Country Club.

The South Korean born golfer grew up in Chandler and played in the JGAA for two years (2007-2008). During that span, Kim racked up three victories and five top-10s.

“Congratulations to Chan Kim on a career-changing stretch as he earns his first PGA TOUR card,” said JGAA Executive Director Scott McNevin. “It’s inspiring for our current players and makes my job so special to see our alumni doing big things in the golf world.”

The JGAA graduate went on to play collegiate golf in the Valley at Arizona State University from 2008-2013. During his time as a Sun Devil, the Hamilton standout had one of the most decorated freshman seasons in ASU Golf history. In 2023, Kim has made 15-28 cuts in his rookie season on the Korn Ferry Tour and also recorded two top-10 finishes.
