On April 28-29, 2018 Quintero Cactus Cup was held at Quintero Golf Club. The Charter team won for the 1st time in four years. The team match play event consisted of 36 holes on Saturday and 18 Holes on Sunday. The two teams, Founder’s and Charter were comprised of five boys and five girls who were paired by their respective captains.
After the Saturday morning Foursome Matches and afternoon Four-Ball Matches, the Charter team had a slim lead of 5 ½ – 4 ½ going into the Sunday Singles Matches. The Charter team came out strong early on Sunday, winning five of the first six Singles matches. Overall on Sunday the Charter team won the Sunday Singles matches 6 ½ to 3 ½, which lead to the 12-8 Charter team victory. The Charter team, led by captains Scott McNevin and Katya Lewis, captured the 18th Annual Competition 12-8.
