The JGAA hosted the Spring Stableford junior golf tournament April 8 at Scottsdale’s Talking Stick Golf Club. The tournament used a Modified Stableford scoring system that awards points based on a player’s score on each hole. In this system, the highest score wins.

More than 120 boys and girls participated in five age groups during the 18-hole tournament. In the Boys Championship Division, Carl Miltun of Gilbert topped Tyler Macpherson of Gilbert by five points with 63 that included six birdies. This marks Miltun’s first win in the JGAA’s Boys Championship Division. Joey Geary of Phoenix came in third place with 56 points.
Ashley Menne of Surprise edged out Alyzzah Vakasiuola of San Tan Valley 62 to 60 to with a clean card featuring four birdies. Last year’s Player of the Year, Menne starts out with two wins and three runner-ups in five events played so far this season. Millburn Ho of Scottsdale earned third-place honors with 55 points.
Alejandro Hernandez of Tempe carded 53 points to win by one point over Brady Wilson of Gilbert in the Boys 15-18 Division. Nikolas Kittilson of Chandler won with 52 points in the Boys 13-14 Division. Ryan Sefrioui of Scottsdale racked up 26 points to win in the Boys 11-12 Division and Dylan Boenning of Scottsdale took the Boy 10 and Under Division with 25 points.
Leah Skaar (51) of Gold Canyon won by six points over Olivia Florence of Gilbert in the Girls 15-18 Division. Mattison Frick of Peoria won the Girls 13-14 Division with 50 points. Alexis Vakasiuola of San Tan Valley won the Girls 11-12 Division with 26 points, and Alexis Lamadrid won in the Girls 10 and Under Division with 19 points.
