The 2025 Boys Junior America’s Cup tees off July 29-31 at Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Portland, Oregon, with the Oregon Golf Association proudly serving as this year’s host. Known for its competitive legacy and elite talent, the esteemed international team event will welcome 18 squads representing regions across the western U.S., Canada, and Mexico: including Arizona, Alberta, British Columbia, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Mexico (Red & Green), Montana, Nevada, Northern California, Oregon, San Diego, Southern California, Sun Country, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Each team features four of the region’s top junior golfers, with the best three scores per round counting toward the team total in the 54-hole format. In addition to team honors, players will compete for the Sally Pini Award, presented to the tournament’s low individual medalist.

After a T11 finish in 2024, Team Arizona arrives in Portland with serious firepower and momentum. This year’s roster includes Dylan Boenning, Ajay Morris, Owen Greenough, and Landon Ashcraft: a talented foursome packed with AJGA titles, D1 college commitments, and proven clutch genes.

“We’re fired up about this year’s Arizona squad; their talent and experience speak for themselves,” said Scott McNevin, Executive Director of the Junior Golf Association of Arizona. “Every one of these boys has the game to compete at the highest level, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish as a team on one of junior golf’s biggest stages.”

Dylan Boenning (Class of 2025, Phoenix) is one of the hottest names in Arizona junior golf, making headlines with a statement victory at the 2025 Uswing Mojing Junior World Championship at Torrey Pines earlier this month. The reigning JGAA Player of the Year has notched three wins this season and remains in the hunt for back-to-back POY honors. A Washington State commit, Boenning is poised to bring his winning ways to the Pac-12 next fall.

Ajay Morris (Class of 2025, Avondale) enters fresh off his first AJGA victory at the 2025 Memorial Junior, where he shattered the course record. He’s also qualified for the 2024 U.S. Amateur, U.S. Junior Amateur, and Junior PGA Championship, all while stacking up multiple top finishes in JGAA play. He’ll continue his golf journey at UT Arlington in the fall.

Owen Greenough (Class of 2027, Chandler) is the youngest member of Team Arizona. He’s already making waves with a win at the Bryce Molder Invitational earlier this season. With four top 10 finishes in just six starts this year, he’s showing signs of a future D1 contender with a relentless drive to climb the ranks.

Landon Ashcraft (Class of 2026, Scottsdale), a verbal commit to Texas A&M, is a two-time individual state champion for Notre Dame Prep and former AJGA winner. His 2025 campaign includes a runner-up finish at the Bryce Molder Invitational and a strong third place showing at the Thunderbird Invitational.

Founded in 1959, the Junior America’s Cup began as a tri-regional showdown between Southern California, Alberta, and Mexico. Today, it stands as one of the premier team competitions in junior golf, with a legacy of excellence that spans decades.

Each year, the event not only showcases the next generation of elite amateur players, but it also serves as a launching pad. Alumni include golf icons like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, and Corey Pavin, along with pros such as Notah Begay, Kevin Na, Pat Perez, Charley Hoffman, and Billy Mayfair.

The competition format continues to celebrate both team and individual brilliance, making it a true test of composure, chemistry, and consistency.

As Team Arizona sets its sights on bringing the cup back to the desert, one thing’s for sure: this crew has the pedigree and star power to make a serious run.

The action kicks off tomorrow at Columbia Edgewater CC.
