Mark your calendars for the 3rd Annual Legacy Cup Golf Tournament on September 16, a premier golf event that combines your love for golf with supporting a great cause. The Legacy Cup will raise awareness and funds for junior programming throughout Arizona. The Foundation of the Junior Golf Association of Arizona provides more than $100,000 annually in financial aid, scholarships, and subsidies for junior golf rounds through its Youth on Course Arizona program. The Legacy Cup is committed to providing opportunities for young golfers to develop their skills, grow their love for the game, and succeed both on and off the course.
In addition to these important programs this event will also support the newly founded Pops and Jr Youth Golf Program at Dobson Ranch. Pop’s and Jr. Youth Golf Program is designed to introduce kids to the game of golf that don’t have the resources or exposure to try. We will be providing Introduction to Golf clinics/lessons, supplying clubs for kids, a scholarship program, and more. 100% of the money that we raise through Pop’s & Jr. Youth Golf Program, will be donated back to kids through scholarships and other organizations.
The JGAA has partnered with Action Golf Carts and Dobson Ranch Golf Course to host a golf tournament and raffle where proceeds will support the Junior Golf Association of Arizona and help fulfill its mission to Educate, Motivate, and Inspire Arizona’s Youth through the game of golf and the Pops and Jr. Foundation. The goal of the Pops and Jr. program is simple according to co-founders, Joe Dahlstrom and Hub Goyen III: open the same doors to opportunity for these kids that opened for us through the game of golf. It is a tribute to our parent’s legacy along with the many other parents and people that made the commitment and sacrifice to introduce kids to the game of golf. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome to participate in this fun-filled day of golf, featuring a four-person scramble format, exciting contests, and prizes.
