Two Arizona teams entered Mary Cave Cup held August 3-4 at Singing Hills Golf Resort in El Cajon, California. Competing in a two-person, best-ball “Four Ball” format, Sydney Bryan of Mesa and Mattison Frick of Peoria made up the first team, and Reagan Capizzi of Scottsdale and Zoe Newell of Oro Valley made up the second Arizona team.

Gilbert’s Rylan Johnson continues to play exceptional golf, this time, at the Maricopa Junior Championship, held August 2-3. He posted 65-67, 12-under par at a stout Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club for the victory.

Hosted by the Wyoming State Golf Association, the 49th Junior America’s Cup teed off July 25-29 at Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyoming. Team Arizona finished in fifth place among an elite international field of 18 teams, marking the Grand Canyon State’s second-best finish in the past 10 years after earning fourth place in 2018.

Scottsdale’s Max Lyons topped the field in the boys’ competition at the Arizona Junior Match Play Championship held at Mirable Golf Club, July 29-30. The top 16 boys in the state were invited to play based on their point totals in the JGAA’s 2021 Boys Championship Division Player of the Year race through the 2020 Phoenix City Junior Championship.

Camden Braidech of Scottsdale earned his first AJGA win of his career at the Colorado Springs Junior by Centura Health, held July 26-29 at The Club at Flying Horse.

The 2021 Junior America’s Cup kicks off July 25-29, with team Arizona set to compete at Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyoming among an elite international field of 18 teams representing Alberta, British Columbia, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Mexico I, Mexico II, Montana, Nevada, Northern California, Oregon, San Diego, Southern California, Sun Country, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
