Zachary Erskine of Chandler shot a 6-over-par 150 (75-75) to win by six strokes over Beau Reutter of Phoenix (79-77—156) in the Boys Championship Division at the Bruce Brown Yuma City Junior Championship played at Desert Hills Golf Course. Jacob Trevino of Lake Forest, Illinois took third at 13-over-par 157 (78-79).

In the Girls Championship Division, Leighton Shosted of Mesa shot a 5-over-par 149 (75-74) to win by one stroke over two players tied for second place: Jordan Grasis of Yuma (77-73—150); and Carly Strole of Avondale (72-78—150).
The event is played annually at Yuma’s Desert Hills Golf Course. After the passing of the long-time PGA Southwest member and general manager of the golf facility, Bruce Brown, his wife Laura and the JGAA established the Bruce Brown Memorial Scholarship in his name to award scholarship funds toward JGAA entry fees to deserving JGAA players.
“Once again the Bruce Brown Yuma City Junior Championship turned out great,” said Scott McNevin, executive director of the JGAA. “We’re truly honored to host this event in Bruce Brown’s name. His commitment to the game of golf and community is an inspiration to us all.”
Three players tied for first place in the Boys 15-18 Division: Hunter Nelson (84-71—155) and David Ramirez (83-72—155), both from Yuma, and Sebastian Van Laarhoven of Scottsdale (77-78—155) – who clinched the win on the first playoff hole. Kevin Chor of Chandler blistered the field in the Boys 13-14 Division with a 13-over-par 157 (77-80); and Tanner Boehm of Scottsdale won the Boys 11-12 Division at 10-over par (40-42—82).
Aubrey Waters of Scottsdale won in the Girls 15-18 Division at 21-over par (80-85—165); Mattison Frick of Peoria won in the Girls 13-14 Division at 7-over par (76-75—151); and Elizabeth Felix of Yuma won in the Girls 10 and Under Division 27-over par (50-49—99).
