is proud to be hosting the 43rd Annual Junior America’s Cup at Pine Canyon Club in Flagstaff, AZ, July 26th-30th. The Pine Canyon Golf Course is one of the high country’s finest, a championship 18-hole course, designed by renowned course architect Jay Morrish. Maxed out, the beautiful course plays every bit of 7,223 yards at 7,000 plus feet in elevation.
The competition brings together an elite international field of 18 teams representing 12 western States, Mexico and 2 Canadian teams. Team results are based on the lowest three gross scores of the four team members. Players will also be competing for the Sally Pini award, which recognizes the individual medalist honors. Team Hawaii took home the hardware last year and will surely be expecting to do the same in Flagstaff.
Not only is the Junior America’s Cup important to all the junior golfers who participate but it’s also a big week for college coaches, who use the tournament as a hunting ground for up-and-coming talent.
Many former participants have gone on to become successful Tour players, and its likely many of this yearʼs participants will follow in the footsteps of other famous JAC alumni such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples and Corey Pavin. Other notable participants include Ricky Barnes, Notah Begay, John Cook, Peter Jacobson, Steve Jones, Anthony Kim, Ryan Moore and Kevin Na.

The Junior America’s Cup (JAC) first started in 1959 as matches between the Mexican, Alberta and the Southern California Junior Golf Associations with each association hosting every three years. Since 2001 the competition annually brings together an elite international field of 18 teams of the top four boys representing 12 western states, 2 Canadian provinces and Mexico.
