The summer swing is heating up for JGAA alumni, with two notable victories on the amateur circuit!

Carolyn Fuller Breaks Through in Colorado

Carolyn Fuller, a Phoenix native and University of Colorado junior-to-be, captured her first-ever Colorado Golf Association title at the 78th CGA Women’s Stroke Play Championship. Held at Eisenhower Golf Club, Fuller closed with a clutch 2-under 70 to finish 1-over-par 217, earning a two-shot win in one of Colorado’s most illustrious women’s amateur events.

Entering the final round tied for the lead, she pulled ahead with four birdies, including key back-to-back red numbers on Nos. 8 and 9—and relied on the steady caddie presence of CU men’s golfer Hunter Swanson to stay sharp down the stretch.

“I just stayed steady these three days… Everything was solid,” Fuller said. “When I got into trouble, I was able to put myself back in position.”

The win adds to a breakout summer for Fuller, who recently earned medalist honors in the U.S. Women’s Amateur qualifier and a top 10 finish at the Irish Women’s Amateur Open.

Raina Ports Goes Wire-to-Wire in Montana

Meanwhile, Raina Ports, a University of Montana standout from Oro Valley, Ariz., went wire-to-wire at the 108th Montana Women’s State Amateur Championship, carding rounds of 69-73-71 for a 3-under-par 213 total and a two-stroke victory.

Ports held her lead throughout all three rounds and outlasted Boise State’s Macee Greenwood, who made a final-day charge with a 68. The win marked Raina’s first Montana State Am title: a major milestone in a season that’s seen her deliver strong performances across the board.

To top it off, her twin sister and teammate Hannah Ports also impressed, finishing third overall at 9-over 225, making it a memorable week for the Ports family.

Both continue to prove that JGAA talent is thriving at the collegiate and amateur level.
