JGAA Alumni Matt McCarty is golf’s hottest new young player after claiming his first PGA TOUR win at the inaugural Black Desert Championship in Utah. The southpaw shot a 4-under 67 in the final round at Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah, concluding with a total score of 23-under 261, earning a three-shot victory over Stephen Jaeger.
From his junior golf days out of Mesa to becoming an official member of the PGA TOUR. Former JGAA standout and Arizona State University alum Mason Andersen has officially earned his PGA TOUR membership after two impressive back-to-back seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour.
Former Salpointe Catholic High School golfer and JGAA alum Mackenzie McRee led the Ohio Bobcats to its first team title since 2017 at the 2024 Rocket Classic hosted by Toledo University. The Tucson native recorded rounds of 76 and 72 on day one, before finishing Tuesday with a 73 for a total tournament score of 221 (+5) and her first-place finish.

The new and improved Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills Golf Club hosted the 23rd Annual Youth on Course and Girls Golf Phoenix fundraiser on Monday, September 23rd. This year, we had 12 JGAA supporters out on the golf course for an action-packed day of golf, camaraderie, and raising money to support a worthy cause.
JGAA alum Max Lyons clutched up on the final stretch to hold off the field by two strokes after three-straight birdies to clinch the victory at the 104th Sutar Ward Group Wisconsin State Open Championship on Wednesday at Minocqua Country Club. Aidan Krafft earned his first collegiate win at the Sahalee Players Championship in Sammamish, Washington. Arizona State’s Preston Summerhays remains at No. 1 for the season’s full ranking for PGA TOUR University’s Class of 2025.
Leadership programming, community support and lasting friendships is what the JGAA is all about and the 100 Hole Marathon keeps their mission in full swing. The Short Course at Mountain Shadows Resort will host the 22nd Annual fundraiser on September 11th and JGAA supporters will gather, play, and raise funds for a great cause.
The Keckstrong Chandler City Junior Championship teed off Sept. 7-8 at Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass and Oakwood Golf Club. Dylan Boenning’s final round 65 gave him a substantial lead of six strokes to cruise into his fourth JGAA win of the season. Hilgers eventually one-upped Cowing to take the Girls Championship division and earn her third overall win of the 2024 season.
U.S. Solheim Cup Team Captain Stacy Lewis has chosen JGAA alumna Sarah Schmelzel as one of her captain’s picks for the 2024 Solheim Cup, scheduled for September 13-15 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
