Three former Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA) members recently posted collegiate golf wins within days of each other. Trevor Werbylo earned a share of the individual and team titles at The Prestige held February 15-17 while Michael Feagles won both titles at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate contested Feb. 14-16. And Gavin Cohen prevailed in a playoff at the Nick Watney Invitational Feb 8-9.

After three rounds in the 60s (66-64-67—197) at Oakcreek CC, Sam Triplett edged out Jared du Toit in a playoff to win The Sedona Open, a major on the Outlaw Tour schedule.

Tucker Clark, JGAA class of 2020, wasted no time making an impact for Notre Dame Golf with an October 13 victory at a GCAA Amateur Series tournament held at Old Oakland Golf Club in Indianapolis.

August was a good month for a few past and present JGAA members. JGAA alum and senior at Grand Canyon University, Jake Chanen won the 96th Arizona Amateur Championship held at Desert Forest Golf Club.

Bound for Rapid City to study chemical engineering at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, Rianna Garland settled on “a school that is more focused on education, and I get to play golf alongside that,” she said.

JGAA alum and Mesa native Charlie Beljan recently offered advice to stay sharp during the break. Although he’s known for his distance off the tee (ranked second in Driving Distance on tour in 2012), Beljan’s first tip is all about putting.
