Mahanth Chirravuri and Jennifer Seo win at home.

After round one in the Boys Championship division of the Chandler City Junior Championship, held September 11-12 at Whirlwind Golf Club, two players sat tied for the lead at 5-under 67. Among the first-round highlights, Chandler’s Mahanth Chirravuri made an eagle-3 while Wyatt Chapman of Gilbert put up five birdies on the back nine alone. Chirravuri then followed in the final round with another 67 for the win at 10-under par, edging out second place finisher Scottsdale’s Henry Dall (68-67) by one stroke. She went 6-under through eight, made the turn in 30, and closed with a seesaw back nine to post 66. Tucson’s Celia Schrecker earned third place at even-par after rounds of 73-71.

In the 15-18 division, Owen Bolles of Goodyear won the boys side at even-par (75-69—144), and Allie Sullivan of Peoria won in the Girls 15-18 division, posting a 6-over-par 150 (77-73).
