By July 8, 2025No Comments

JGAA standout Hogan O’Malley (Class of 2026) has clinched his first AJGA victory at the prestigious AJGA Junior at Ratliff Ranch presented by Discover Odessa in Odessa, TX. After two rounds of intense 36-hole stroke play, O’Malley tied at 9-under-par 135 and emerged victorious in a dramatic three-hole playoff.

A clutch performance under pressure. In round two, O’Malley surged with a 65, carding 11 birdies and drawing level with Grady Thompson at a cumulative 9-under. There was plenty of playoff drama: The battle extended through three playoff holes before Hogan emerged the winner, marking a memorable debut on the AJGA circuit.

“My first AJGA event was memorable. The course was tough and the field was stacked, but I played my best and pulled off the win,” said Hogan.

This breakthrough win not only highlights Hogan’s precision and mental toughness but also signals his rising trajectory as he heads toward a promising high school and collegiate career. Hogan has already committed to University of Arizona, where he’ll continue to sharpen his skills.

From supportive coaching to high-level event experience, Hogan’s journey from local junior tournaments to an AJGA champion speaks volumes about his work ethic and the JGAA mission.

We’re cheering loudly for Hogan—this is just the beginning. Keep an eye out for more from O’Malley as he builds momentum on the AJGA tour and steps into his role at U of A.
