The JGAA proudly congratulates alumnus Carlos Astiazaran on his historic victory at the Nick Watney Invitational. Astiazaran, a sophomore at the University of the Pacific, delivered an outstanding performance, shooting a 10-under-par 203 over three rounds (67, 71, 65) to become the first Pacific men’s golfer to win multiple individual titles in a single season since 1983. His final round was particularly impressive, featuring a bogey-free 6-under 65, which propelled him to the top of the leaderboard. This achievement not only highlights Carlos’s dedication and hard work but also serves as an inspiration to current JGAA members. We look forward to following his continued success on and off the course.
“Carlos was a standout talent during his time with the JGAA, so it’s no surprise to see him making history at the collegiate level,” said JGAA Executive Director Scott McNevin. “Wishing him and the Pacific golf team all the best for the rest of their season!”
