Landon Ashcraft Wins AJGA Salt Lake Junior

The American Junior Golf Association’s Salt Lake Junior took place August 1-3 at Glenmoor Golf Club. Landon Ashcraft of Scottsdale secured his first AJGA victory of his career and joins the winner’s circle. Ashcraft recorded two rounds in the 60s (67-68) and closed out the event with five birdies in the final round to seal it. The leaderboard was tight up at the top with hometown favorite Jackson Shelley of Salt Lake City giving Ashcraft a run for his money. However, the pressure didn’t get to Ashcraft, and he fired off a two-under 70 to be one up on Shelley to win the event. Ashcraft had a total score of 11-under 205 over three rounds. The victory will assist Ashcraft make his presence felt on the national stage as he now has a win under his belt in just three appearances. Click here for full results.
