Kyle Peterson and Ashley Menne Post Wins at the Prescott City Junior Championship

The Prescott City Junior Championship teed off July 11-12 at Antelope Hills Golf Course with a field of 85 junior golfers – boys and girls – ages 8-18 competing in five age groups.

In the Boys Championship Division, Kyle Peterson of Peoria prevailed in a playoff against Cody Goza of Pinetop to come in first place with a score of 7-over par, 76-74—150. Caden Christopherson of Chandler finished third with a score of 8-over par, 77-74—151.

In the Girls Championship Division, Ashley Menne of Surprise cruised to a three-stroke victory after firing a tournament-low, 3-under-par 69 in the second round to finish at 1-over par, 76-69—145. Anne Transier of Prescott finished in second place with a score of 75-73—148, 4-over par, and Scottsdale’s Ocean Pangan placed third with a score of 79-80—159.

Noah Nuez of Laveen won the Boys 15-18 Division at 3-over par, 76-70—146. Riley Lewis of Prescott won the Boys 13-14 Division at 2-under par (71-70—141). Nicklas Nuez of Laveen won in a playoff over Nicholas Van Laarhoven of Scottsdale in the Boys 11-12 Division by posting 46-37—83 (11-over par), and Tyler Spielman from Cave Creek won the Boys 10 and Under Division at 1-under par (34-37—71).

Michelle Koo of Scottsdale won in the Girls 15-18 Division at 8-over par (79-73—152). Bailee Tayles of Scottsdale won the Girls 13-14 Division at 10-over par (80-74—154).
