Junior Golf Association Of Arizona Hosts 2015 Spring Stableford

The JGAA hosted the Spring Stableford junior golf tournament on April 4 at Tegavah Golf Club in Rio Verde and Paradise Valley Park Golf Course in Phoenix. As the name suggests, the tournament used a Modified Stableford scoring system that awards points based on a player’s score on each hole. In this system, the highest score wins.

More than 90 juniors participated with boys and girls age 13-18 playing 18 holes at Tegavah Golf Club. And at Paradise Valley Park Golf Course, boys and girls 11-12 played 18 holes, and boys and girls 10 and under played 9 holes.

In the Boys Championship Division, Shay Allison of Mesa topped Bradley Pottle of Chandler by one point with 29. Brayden Narveson of Scottsdale won the Boys 15-18 Division with 34 points. John Menne of Surprise (32 points) edged Daniel Thompson of Phoenix in a playoff in the Boys 13-14 Division. Noah Nuez of Laveen took top honors in the Boys 11-12 Division with 38 points, and Charlie Palmer from Phoenix won the Boys 10 and Under Division with 18 points.

In the Girls Championship Division, Jenny Bae of Chandler posted 34 points for the win. Anne Transier of Prescott Valley won in the Girls 15-18 Division with 30 points. Ashley Menne of Surprise won the Girls 13-14 Division with 31 points. Sneha Yadav of Scottsdale won the Girls 11-12 Division with 26 points, and Brooklynn Maes won in the Girls 10 and Under Division with 7 points. To see all photos of the event, CLICK HERE!
